Star Refutes Anti-Vaccine Views After Lending His Voice To Controversial Coronavirus Documentary

The "Taken" star has given his narration to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccinations and praises former cabinet secretary RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Disputed Basis

Called "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was linked to a bad strain of the influenza shot.

Her collaborator, a producer, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone radio host Alex Jones. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's involvement in the film.

An Unequivocal Rebuttal

The team of the actor have provided a statement strongly denying implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.

"Everyone can acknowledge that corruption might be present within the drug industry, but that cannot be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement states. "Neeson never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement noted that the star did not shape the documentary's narrative and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the creators.

Key Assertions Within the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script read by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It suggests that pro-vaccine voices have called for "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "research has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • It takes aim at stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused severe distress that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Background and Ongoing Issues

The documentary also references a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the subject of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Recently, the political figure instructed the national health agency to change its official position that there is no link between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is repeated in the film, despite a new report from the WHO confirming no such link has been found.

A Previous Record of Support

Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has formerly voiced clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

The film concludes with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This isn't the finish of our journey. Rather, it is the start of a different phase."
