Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
It said missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
