Bills' Disappointing Performance Opens New England Route to Top Spot - Highlights of NFL Week 10

Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the National Football League
This outcome may have opened things up for the Patriots to move back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an advantage over their eight and two rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the Most Valuable Player award
The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Bills to answer
The Bills had won seven in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 victors in an surprising result - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a significant failure produced by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Bottling up the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5-yard season average
Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins converted to seven points just two plays
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - rather than the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the American Football Conference East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 teams in the league, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?
You can find flaws in New England, the Broncos and the Colts really for feasting on the lesser sides, with just five of their total 24 victories coming against teams with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Broncos
Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Buffalo appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats came in new head coach Vrabel's initial three games, with seven straight wins, just like the Broncos, from that point - but taking down Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to victory
The defense is solid and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 rushing yards and two exciting scores of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the best record thanks to their schedule - which features just one game against a winning team, albeit a significant contest against Buffalo
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Chargers (who could also challenge for top seed but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the fixture list
The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to go but the opportunity is available for a surprise top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash
Both squads with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three 8-2 sides are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up forty points to reach 7-2 before the upcoming major meeting between the pair in Los Angeles
Both have secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold playing at an high standard (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up under 20 points a game
Both could realistically be without a loss as too - particularly the Rams as their pair of losses occurred in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
The Seahawks also lost to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in week one, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year so far
Top Performer - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Berlin - rushing for 244 yards, scoring three scores and adding another forty-two {receiving yards
